The St. Charles Kiwanis Club and the River Corridor Foundation of St. Charles (stcrivercorridor.org) are teaming up to present the Heart of the Fox.
The day begins with the Heart of the Fox Run. The certified 5K and 10K courses begin at the historic Pottawatomie Park Grande Pavilion, along the Fox River, in St. Charles. Utilizing an all-terrain route, this is one of the most scenic and energizing runs in the Chicago suburbs.
Immediately following the 5K and 10K runs, participants will have the opportunity to join in our Colonial Café Color Fun Run. The Colonial Café Color Fun Run is a dash through five color stations on a course located within Pottawatomie Park. This event is the perfect opportunity for family fun! We will also have ongoing kids’ activities, such as face painting and balloon animals, in the Park.
This year, we are partnering with Fox Valley Special Recreation Association and Western DuPage Special Recreation Association. These organizations were founded to provide fun and diverse opportunities for challenged children and adults.
As these events close, we are hosting a most unique event … the Heart of the Fox Tug. With 800 feet of rope, we will be having a tug of war across the Fox River.
We are planning 10 separate tugs with teams of 10 placed on opposite sides of the river. Participants will not be pulled into the river but, will compete to gain a set distance of the rope from the opposing team. This event is a natural draw for competing Police and Fire Departments, high schools and businesses throughout the Fox Valley and beyond. Bragging rights are priceless.
The registration page will be available soon.
